Q: Can I start by asking where you were born?
A: I was born in South East London, but I have lived in Newcastle, Bath and Essex
Q: Do you like to travel?
A: When I was much younger, I stayed with the mountain tribes in Thailand and hiked across the mountains of Transalvania, but with age, my travels have become more tame. Driving across New Zealand in a camper van and such like.
Q: You obviously write books, but do you like to read?
A: Yes, my wife and I read a great deal. I have recently come across a great author, Alice Feeney https://www.alicefeeney.com. Her writing is brilliant.
Q: What inspired the novel you are writing at the moment?
A: We were skiing in Austria. At dinner, a very well-dressed young lady walked in, wearing a traditional black dress and a pearl necklace. The man she was with wore a baseball cap back to front, dirty jeans and looked rough. Observing them made me ponder their unlikely pairing. I ran through a number of scenarios in my mind, and this eventually triggered an idea for a book.
Q: Do you have any family?
A: Yes, I have a wonderful wife (who is also my proofreader and critic), two grown-up children and 5 grandchildren ranging from one year old to twenty-one.
